The term 2008-2009 started with formulating policies and guidelines for the practice of Architecture in Brunei. Two emerging events have largely shaped the activities at PUJA AD during the term. The proposed Professional Order in Brunei Darussalam; and the MOD/CPRU regulation to register only qualified professionals as qualified persons (QP). It became imperative for PUJA AD to concentrate on the processing of applications for membership which has taken up a good part of the period, both in formulating the basis for approvals, and in conducting the interviews for applicants .Nevertheless PUJA AD has managed to extend its influence by establishing permanent professional links with regional Institutes of Architects and also found time to initiate and jointly organize the CLEX 2009 event. The committee was also involved in commenting on the Draft Professional Order; MOA for the Appointment of Architect; and to be in dialogue with Government authorities on issues relating Planning Control Regulation.
